Variax Update

So last Saturday night, my Variax’s D string stopped working. I was crushed. Really Bummed.Gloom Dispair and Agony on ME! I played Boomers Strat for a set then I restrung my trusty Carvin Bolt and I made it thru the gig.

Sunday morning I tried to find some support online, but as my Variax is a second with no warranty, things looked grim. Then I did a quick search on Ebay, and I found a new warranteed(?) model 300 for a good price, and so I scored it. Then I decided to check out the “broken” Variax, and it worked like a charm, and it hasn’t shown any signs of a relapse. I dunno what happened. I sweat like a butcher, so maybe something got wet and dried out. The bigger issue is how addicted I am to the Variax and its bag of tricks. This proves there is no going back.

My new one is a Red Model 300 and should be here in a few days.
